Anniversary Exhibition – Everyone on Stage! 20 Years of the CNCS Collections
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its opening, the museum presents a spectacular retrospective exhibition showcasing its unique expertise and the finest masterpieces from its collections. Featuring more than 100 iconic costumes and stage objects, the exhibition offers visitors an unprecedented behind-the-scenes journey into the CNCS, revealing the fascinating process through which costumes are acquired, preserved and integrated into the national collections—from the stage to the museum’s reserves.
The exhibition continues with an invitation to explore the heart of the collections, true living archives of the performing arts. They bear witness to the history of stage creation, the art of costume design, and the remarkable craftsmanship of costume-making workshops whose creations enhance the performances of actors and dancers alike.
Both festive and immersive, the exhibition features a series of original digital installations created by artist Pierre Giner, bringing the costumes to life through a striking visual choreography. Stories and personal testimonies accompany the displays, while the “Visitor’s Favourite” showcase presents costumes selected by the public. Younger visitors are not forgotten, with a dedicated family trail designed especially for children.
